My Creative Career
I am a “Lancashire Lass” from Stockport, I grew up in what was the little village of Heaton Mersey (below left).
I was inspired and encouraged by my mother, Annette, who was a talented Artist and Teacher at the local Primary School,
St Winifred's, Heaton Mersey.
When I was 5 she entered my first Artwork to Stockport Art Gallery,
this painting was used for the “children’s art exhibition” poster. (below right)
The other Artistic influence in my life was my Aunt Monica who was an Art Teacher at Manchester Girls School,
she often sketched me (above; in deep concentration with a new set of oil paints) and my siblings.
She took me on memorable days out to The Ballet, Exhibitions and Art Galleries.
My Creative Career has covered Graphic Design and Illustration through to Horticulture and Garden Design
In 2003 I achieved a R.H.S. Silver medal for my Design “Safe in the City” for Greater Manchester Police at Tatton show in Cheshire.

In 2013 I was encouraged by my son and family to enter a painting for the Open Contemporary Exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery,
so after a 45 year gap, I was back where I started, Exhibiting at Stockport Art Gallery.

I have always loved the North West, the Amazing Architecture, Wonderful Country side and Fabulous Parks and Estates.
At the beginning of 2014 I became a National Trust volunteer at Lyme Park, Disley, Cheshire.
The Beautiful House and Garden at Lyme has inspired me to create a series of Water colour paintings,
which are now available as Fine Art Giclee Prints.
I hope you enjoy them as much as did painting them.
